Honey Stinger
Honey Stinger Energy Gel - Individual
How is a honey-based gel different from a standard energy gel?
Honey Stinger Energy Gels use organic honey as their primary carbohydrate source instead of maltodextrin. Honey is a natural dual-source carbohydrate: roughly 40% fructose and 35% glucose, which means it provides both immediate and sustained energy via two different absorption pathways, without the need for manufactured carbohydrate combinations. The result is smooth, sustained energy delivery with a texture and taste that many athletes find significantly easier to handle than synthetic gels, especially deep into a long effort. All gels include potassium for electrolyte support and are USDA Organic with no artificial sweeteners, colors, or preservatives. Honey Stinger targets 100 calories per 45 minutes of activity as a general starting point, but every athlete is different.
DCL carries four gel flavors: Gold, Acai Pomegranate, Fruit Smoothie, and Strawberry Kiwi (caffeinated). Gold is the original and unique: it is essentially 95% pure honey with added electrolytes and a full B vitamin complex (B1, B2, B3, B5, B6, B12) that supports carbohydrate metabolism, at 90 calories per packet. Acai Pomegranate and Fruit Smoothie are both USDA Organic blends of organic tapioca syrup and honey at 100 calories each. Strawberry Kiwi delivers the same 100 calories with 32mg of caffeine from green tea concentrate and is certified Gluten-Free. All four flavors contain 24g of carbohydrates per packet. Not vegan: all contain honey.
