Lake Cycling CX242 - Wide | Black/Silver
Full flagship road fit, now with a dedicated wide last: the Lake CX242 Wide
The Lake CX242 Wide brings Lake's flagship road performance to riders who need real room. Instead of one continuous upper, it uses a segmented six-zone construction where support is distributed across separate panels, so the shoe wraps bunions, bony prominences, and broad forefeet while reducing pressure across the instep. Pairing that with a dedicated wide last means you start with genuine room before the panels even begin to conform. NuFoam padding cushions sensitive spots and Carbitex carbon fiber stabilizer panels hold the structure firm without hard edges, while two BOA Li2 dials give independent forefoot and instep micro-adjustment.
Underneath sits a full carbon fiber sole for elite stiffness and power transfer, built on Lake's wide Competition last for a stable, planted platform. By design the CX242 feels slightly less locked-in across the top than a race-tight shoe like the CX239, trading that for adaptability and all-day comfort. It runs a 3-bolt road cleat pattern for Shimano SPD-SL, Look, and compatible pedals. This is the Wide in Black and Silver, and if a standard road shoe has never given your forefoot enough room, this is the one we hand you first.
