Lake Cycling MX242 - Wide | Black/Silver
Flagship off-road fit for the widest, hardest-to-fit feet: the Lake MX242 Wide
The Lake MX242 Wide is Lake's answer for off-road riders who need genuine room and still want flagship performance. Its upper is built from six independent leather zones, Helcor abrasion-resistant leather and Ecco full-grain leather over a lightweight NuFoam lining, so each panel wraps your foot on its own and spreads pressure away from bunions, bony spots, high insteps, and broad forefeet. Pairing that with a dedicated wide MX Competition last means real room before the panels even conform. A heat-moldable heel counter lets a fitter lock in the heel, and a Carbitex carbon fiber stabilizer keeps the structure solid without hard edges. Two BOA Li2 dials handle closure with micro-adjustment in both directions.
Underfoot, the Lake Competition 100% carbon fiber sole delivers stiff, efficient power transfer while the Mountain Competition real rubber tread extends across the sole for grip and stability when you are off the bike. The wide MX Competition last gives a larger toe box to prevent binding on steep climbs and a tighter heel for a planted feel, and the 2-bolt pattern works with SPD, Time ATAC, and Crankbrothers cleats. This is the Wide in Black and Silver, and it accepts toe spikes for the worst conditions. If your feet have outgrown every other mountain shoe, start here.
