New Life for a Broken Chain Tool in the Park Tool CTP-C

The Park Tool CTP-C is a card of two replacement drive pins for Park Tool chain tools, and it is the part that turns a dead chain tool back into a working one. The pin is the piece that actually pushes the rivet out of the chain, so it carries the whole load and it is the first thing to bend or snap. Pins are hardened alloy tool steel. Swapping one takes a 7 mm or 9/32 inch box end wrench and about a minute.

It fits the CT-1, CT-2, CT-3, CT-3.2, CT-3.3, CT-5, and CT-7. Park Tool's own compatibility list is broader than the one printed on the card, which names only the CT-2, CT-3, CT-5, and CT-7, so go by the list above. Buying a card of two rather than a single pin is the sensible move, because the second one lives in the tool roll and turns the next failure into a two minute stop.
