Silca 3DP Mountain Cleats - Crank Brothers
What makes the SILCA 3DP Titanium Cleats for Crank Brothers special?
The SILCA 3DP Titanium Cleats cut the weight of your cleats in half. Mountain cleats have traditionally come in only two materials, mild steel and brass, chosen so the cleat wears out before the more expensive pedal interface does, which leaves you with heavy, fast-wearing parts. SILCA solved that by 3D printing them in 6Al/4V titanium, a metal that is one-third lighter than steel, and giving each cleat an internal gyroid lattice structure that holds stiffness and strength while removing the material that is not load-bearing.
The result is a Crank Brothers cleat set at just 22 grams, roughly 24 grams lighter than stock and about half the weight of a standard set, with a tested 4 times the life expectancy of brass. It offers 6 degrees of float with a 15-degree release and includes 6Al/4V titanium hardware. SILCA notes that while the packaging lists a 6Nm maximum torque, up to 10Nm is acceptable and may be needed on very hard carbon soles, so grease the threads and re-tighten after your first ride. 3D printed in Indianapolis, USA, and backed by the SILCA Limited Warranty for 2 years.
