What makes the SILCA Brake and Drivetrain Cleaner change color?

The SILCA Ultimate Brake and Drivetrain Cleaner sprays on as a clear solution, then foams and turns a purplish-red as it encapsulates and lifts oil, grease, and brake dust off your chain, cassette, chainrings, pulleys, and rotors. That color change is the tell: it shows the formula working and signals when the contamination has been captured and it is time to rinse. The whole process takes about 3 to 5 minutes, and a firm brush helps on a heavily caked drivetrain before a clean-water rinse.
