What does the SILCA SpeedChip add to your hot wax?

SILCA SpeedChip is a full synthetic wax produced from the same exotic base oils used in SILCA Synergetic, blended with three sizes of sub-micron and nanoscale Tungsten Disulfide (WS2) platelets for further reduced friction and anti-wear performance. Add one chip per 250g of hot wax to permanently optimize your blend for speed. SILCA states one SpeedChip per 250g improves chain efficiency by 0.4 percent, and two chips per 250g improves it by 0.6 percent over standard Secret Chain Blend hot melt. The tradeoff is shorter intervals between re-waxing: the fastest synthetic wax base that gives SpeedChip its speed advantage does not last as long per application as unmodified Secret Chain Blend, so it suits race situations where you will be re-waxing soon anyway.
