Hey there @ Evan, in this weeks episode (#66) you mention at 57:05 that the PNW has the lowest regional incidence of skin cancers. Unfortunately, from my understanding the opposite is true.
Please consider the below for next week’s errors and omissions so that your listeners can be informed :)
https://gis.cdc.gov/cancer/USCS/DataViz.html
Between 2010-2014, Jefferson, Island, King, San Juan, Kitsap, Skagit and Snohomish counties had higher rates of newly diagnosed skin cancer than the rest of the state. Other classically cloudy states, like Delaware, Vermont and New Hampshire all rate among highest rates of melanoma, according to a Centers for Disease Control and Prevention report.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the highest rates of melanoma are in some of the cloudiest states, like Washington, Oregon, and Vermont. Rates are per 100,000 residents, and it should be noted that data is not available for Arkansas or Minnesota.
1. Delaware—32.6
2. Vermont—32.3
3. New Hampshire—31.4
4. Wyoming—30.1
5. Oregon—29.6
6. Montana—29
7. Iowa—27.8
8. Washington—27.5
9. Utah—27.4
10. Maine—26.5
Thanks,
Tonk
Tonk for the win! This will be in the E&O’s for sure :)
