Andy enjoys spending time with his family whenever possible and especially if this involves hiking, skiing, or just juggling the soccer ball and talking trash with his kids. He has been married for 28 years “and hasn’t been traded-in for a new model yet”.
After retiring from competitive soccer, Andy made the switch from quick to slow twitch in 2012 due to knee issues. “When I had to lay down to tie my shoes and bend over to sneeze to minimize lower back pain, I knew it was time to find a new sport plus goalkeeping wasn’t an option. My son, Anders, watched my last game and this was priceless. Ever since, it’s been my turn to coach, support, love, and mentor my kids”. Andy is a former All-American soccer player winning a national championship. Post college, he played with the Salem Surge (USISL), Portland Pride as a reserve player (CISL), and various OPSL teams.
Without question, new friendships and bike adventures are on Andy’s to do list… starting immediately.
While not spending time with his family or riding, Andy enjoys building large machines for processing bulk materials and is the President of ACTION: http://actionconveyors.com/home
