When should cyclists use the SiS GO Energy + Caffeine Gel?
The SiS GO Energy + Caffeine Gel delivers 22g of fast-absorbing carbohydrates plus 75mg of caffeine in a single 60ml gel, designed for the moments in a race or long ride when you need both a physical and mental edge. Science in Sport built this gel on the same carbohydrate platform as the GO Isotonic Gel, adding 75mg of caffeine (equivalent to roughly one cup of coffee) to lower your perception of effort and sharpen focus when fatigue sets in. Note: this gel is not isotonic due to the added caffeine increasing its concentration, so consuming it with water is recommended.
Use one gel 30 minutes before short, intense efforts for mental preparation, or one to two gels towards the end of long endurance events when alertness and power output start to fade. Caffeine has been extensively shown to improve performance in endurance sport by reducing perceived effort and increasing concentration. Do not exceed four GO Energy + Caffeine gels per day.
