The SILCA Nastro Cuscino 2.5mm is bar tape engineered from first principles. Using a laminate of SILCAthane, SILCAlon, and 3M Visco-elastic adhesive -- developed from the same materials found in high-performance running shoe midsoles and F1 tires -- instead of a single foam extrusion, the tape delivers the cushioning feel of something much thicker, vibration isolation that standard foam cannot replicate, and 3 to 5x the durability of conventional tape. SILCAthane provides the high-tack outer grip layer that holds in both wet and dry conditions. SILCAlon provides the foam structure, developed from marathon running shoe foam compounds for optimal rebound and comfort. The 3M Visco-elastic adhesive bonds the layers and adds targeted damping of handlebar buzz at the molecular level.
