The evolution of acceleration
The BMC Teammachine SLR02 Disc THREE shares its frame and fork (1045 g frame, 405 g fork) with the SLR02 Disc ONE, as well as frame geometry with the top-flight SLR01 Disc. It comes smartly spec’d with Shimano’s newest 105 hydraulic disc group and a Shimano RS-170 wheelset. BMC started with their existing Teammachine and used their Advanced Composite Evolution (ACE) technology to optimize ride, handling, and stiffness properties, while keeping the frameset at a trim race weight with disc brakes on board. After thousands of computer simulations, BMC decided on a new design: an asymmetric frame & fork, and further integration would be key to improving upon their winning formula. The newly-asymmetric frame and fork improve stiffness out of the saddle while keeping weight low and maintaining a smooth ride quality. As a result, the ride is planted without feeling sluggish. The bike jumps forward at a moment’s notice but isn’t overly stiff. Disc brakes ensure the bike stops just as quickly. Space for a 28 mm tire further magnifies the Teammachine’s positive traits.
