2021 Giant Stance E
An e-bike does not make the ride easier. It makes the ride longer.
The Stance E+ runs Giant's SyncDrive Sport motor, developed with Yamaha, putting out 70Nm of torque and drawing from a 625Wh battery tucked into the down tube. What that means on the trail is simple: the climb you used to turn around at becomes the halfway point, and the after work loop stops depending on whether your legs showed up.
The suspension is built to make that sustainable rather than sharp. 130mm up front and 120mm out back takes the edge off the trail without asking you to ride hard to get anything out of it. Four piston brakes on 203mm rotors deal with the extra weight an e-bike carries, so controlling your speed down a descent is a fingertip job instead of a forearm job. The dropper post moves the saddle out of the way when the trail tips downhill. Maxxis Rekon tires roll quick on hardpack and still find grip when a corner turns loose.
Fenders front and rear and a bell are already fitted, which is what a bike looks like when it earns its keep on trails and on pavement both.
