The Lake MX242 Wide brings Lake's flagship, adaptive-fit mountain shoe to riders with broader feet, here in a distinctive Helcor camouflage upper. The segmented six-zone upper is built from independent panels that conform around the contours of your foot as you ride, spreading pressure evenly with no single tight band, while a heat-moldable heel counter can be warmed to set a precise, locked-in heel hold. The Wide MX Competition last gives genuine room in the toe box before that adaptive fit takes over. Helcor abrasion-resistant leather, NuFoam lining, and Carbitex carbon fiber support panels make it durable and supportive, closed by dual BOA Li2 dials. This pair is EU size 46.
Underfoot sits a Lake Competition 100% carbon fiber sole with a Mountain Competition real rubber tread, stiff and efficient for power transfer with the grip and protection you need for hike-a-bike. It runs a 2-bolt SPD pattern compatible with SPD, Time ATAC, and Crankbrothers cleats. This is the Wide width, the MX242 for riders who want flagship fit and stiffness with room for a broader foot.

Returned because the customer needed a different size. Cleats were mounted and the shoes were ridden around the block for a short test.
