Unlike the M70R2 insert-only cartridge, this is the full shoe including the aluminum holder body with threaded post mount, making it the correct replacement when the shoe body itself is corroded or damaged, or when building up a fresh brake caliper from scratch. The M70R2 compound performs well across dry, wet, and muddy conditions, delivering consistent friction and controlled modulation across the range of surfaces V-brakes encounter on trail, trekking, and commuter bikes.
