How does the Lake Cycling TX224 Wide fit a high-volume foot?
The Lake Cycling TX224 - Wide | White/Black is built around a single idea: better fit means faster transitions and better performance, and the Wide is the answer for riders with broad or high-volume feet. It is built on Lake's CX/TX Comfort Plus Last, the most generous forefoot platform in the CX/TX lineup, with extra room in the toe box for natural toe splay and less pressure on wider feet. The Carbon Composite sole with replaceable heel pads keeps the shoe light and stiff for efficient power transfer, and the 3-bolt cleat pattern works with Look, SPD-SL, and similar road systems.
The upper combines Clarino Microfiber with Lake's NuFoam breathable wicking shell and a Trek-Dry antimicrobial liner for sockless triathlon comfort, drawing moisture out and letting air flow through to keep your feet cool between transitions. A speed draw-string lace system pairs with a single hook-and-loop strap, so you set the lace tension before the race and rely on the strap for fast, repeatable closures coming out of T1. Built for triathletes with wide or high-volume feet who want unrestricted forefoot room without giving up a precise, race-ready platform.
