FAQ

How is the Loam Lever Gen 2 different from the Range Lever?

The Loam Lever Gen 2 is 5-axis CNC'd for a sharper, cleaner look and lighter weight, has a larger sealed bearing, and comes in many colors. The Range Lever has a forged body.

Is the Loam Lever Gen 2 compatible with dropper posts from other brands?

Yes. PNW lists it as compatible with any cable-actuated dropper post. It is not compatible with RockShox Reverb posts, which are fully hydraulic.

What does the 22.2mm clamp size mean for handlebar compatibility?

The standard 22.2mm hinge clamp is compatible with standard MTB handlebars. PNW also makes SRAM MatchMaker X, Shimano I-SPEC II, and Shimano I-SPEC EV versions; this listing is the 22.2mm clamp.

Does it work on a bike with a front shifter?

No. The Loam Lever Gen 2 is a shifter style lever for 1x drivetrains and is not compatible with a front derailleur shifter on the left side of the bar. For 2x bikes, PNW recommends the Puget 2x Lever.

Can I run it on the right side of my bars?

The Loam Lever runs horizontally and is machined ergonomically for the left side of the bars, so it would not work well on the right side.

Best For

Mountain bikers on 1x drivetrains who want a premium lever that prioritizes tactile feel and weatherproof durability over budget price. Especially well-suited to PNW Loam Dropper owners who want a fully matched system, and to riders upgrading a basic lever.
