Will this work on a 7-speed drivetrain?

No. The ST-EF41 3x6 is calibrated for 6-speed rear shifting. Using it with a 7-speed cassette will result in misaligned indexing. For 7-speed drivetrains, use a 7-speed compatible shifter such as the SL-RS45 or ST-EF500 7-speed version.

What does EZ-Fire mean?

EZ-Fire is Shimano's term for the integrated brake and shift lever system used on their entry-level flat-bar components. A single lever unit handles both braking and gear shifting, reducing the number of controls needed on the handlebar.

Are shift cables also included?
