FAQ

How do Guide RSC internals differ from Guide R or Guide RE internals?

Guide RSC and Guide Ultimate use a more complex internal assembly with contact point adjustment and paddle reach that requires a different internal kit than the Guide R and Guide RE. The RSC suffix refers to the reach, swing, and contact point adjustability in the lever body. Using the wrong internals kit will result in incorrect fit or missing components.

How often should lever internals be serviced on trail and enduro brakes?

Service interval depends heavily on riding frequency and conditions. Riders who put significant hours on Guide RSC or Code RSC brakes in wet or dusty conditions should inspect lever feel annually or after 150-200 hours of riding. Any time a bleed does not restore feel adequately, internal inspection or rebuild is the appropriate next step.

Does this kit include the bleed kit or DOT fluid?

No. This kit contains only the lever internal components. A complete DOT hydraulic bleed is required after installation. You will need SRAM's Pro DOT bleed kit, DOT 5.1 brake fluid, bleed syringes, and appropriate torque tools to complete the service.

Best For

Trail, enduro, and gravity riders servicing Guide RSC, Guide Ultimate, or Code RSC levers that have experienced feel degradation not resolved by bleeding alone.
