SRAM Force Flattop E1 Chain - 12/13-Speed | 126 Links
What makes the SRAM Force Flattop E1 Chain last longer?
The SRAM Force E1 chain uses Flattop technology, a link shape that let SRAM build a narrower chain to enable X-Range gearing. Narrower normally means more fragile, and this goes the other way: the shape adds strength and runs quieter than a conventional chain. The durability story, though, is the finish. SRAM's Hard Chrome process on the inner link plates and rollers delivers four times the elongation resistance of their other chains, with push pin and ultimate strength unchanged.
Cut-outs in the inner and outer link plates bring the weight down. It fits 12-speed road and 13-speed gravel cassettes, so the same part covers a Force E1 road build and an XPLR gravel build. This is the 126-link version and a Flattop PowerLock connector comes in the box. Use the Flattop-specific PowerLock rather than a standard one, and treat it as single use: once it comes off, fit a fresh link.
