What Is the Castelli Prosecco Tech Short Sleeve Base Layer?
The Castelli Prosecco Tech Short Sleeve is a base layer made to keep you dry in cool conditions. The main body is a stretch rib knit 100% polyester fabric with Prosecco hydrophilic treatment for maximum wicking. Castelli says its first goal is to move moisture away from your skin while adding minimal insulation for cool days when your riding intensity is high enough and your outer layers are warm enough. It carries Castelli's Rosso Corsa label, which Castelli applies only to its highest-level products.
Lighter-weight PrimaLoft panels sit at the waist and back, where the bibtight covers the upper body, to reduce uneven insulation. Both fabrics are very stretchy and the cut is slim, because this base layer works best in contact with the skin. The crew neck fits under short-collared jerseys. Castelli rates it for 50 to 68°F (10 to 20°C) and gives it a Tailored fit. The Lab carries it in black in sizes L and XL.

Castelli rates it for 50 to 68°F (10 to 20°C) and says it is made to keep you dry in cool conditions. On extremely cold days, Castelli uses it as a first layer under a Flanders Warm second base layer or under a thermal jersey.
Why does it have PrimaLoft panels?
Castelli says the areas covered by the bibtight around the waist and up the back can get hot, so it used a lightweight PrimaLoft fabric there to help even out the temperature.
How should it fit?
Castelli says this base layer works best in contact with the skin, so both fabrics are very stretchy and the cut is slim. Castelli lists a Tailored fit.
