PDW is a neighbor. Portland Design Works got its start just across the river in Portland, and it makes beautiful, simple gear for everyday riding. Which PDW fender size do I need?

Match the fender to your tire. Full Metal Fenders in 700x37 fit tires up to 30mm, 700x45 up to 35mm, and 700x55 up to 47mm. Poncho Fenders in 700x45 fit tires up to 35mm, and 700x57 up to 48mm.

What is the difference between PDW Full Metal and Poncho fenders?

Full Metal Fenders are anodized aluminum. Poncho Fenders are made from recycled polycarbonate. Both give full coverage on 700c wheels.

Can I put PDW fenders on a bike with thru axles?

Yes. The PDW Minoura Thru Axle replaces your existing thru axle and has a mounting eyelet on both ends, so you can mount racks and fenders on a fork without eyelets. We stock front and rear versions.

Do you have a fender that goes on and off easily?

Yes. The PDW Origami Clip-on Fender fits almost any bike. Punch it out of its packaging, fold it along the seams, and snap it onto its mount, then pack it down when the weather clears.

Does PDW make fenders for fat bikes and e-bikes?

Yes. The Mud Shovel 6.5 fenders are extra long and wide, made for fat bikes, and the Full E-Bike Fenders fit 20 x 3.1 inch wheels.

How does the PDW OxRack hold a basket?

The OxRack Front has alloy basket braces built in for attaching a wire basket. It mounts to the fork crown and mid-fork eyelets and carries up to 10kg.

What size handlebars does the PDW Takeout Basket fit?

The Takeout Basket fits 25.4 to 31.8mm handlebars, and all the mounting hardware comes in the box. It has a built-in U-lock slot too.

How much can the PDW Bindle Rack carry?

The Bindle Rack clamps to seatposts from 22.0 to 31.6mm and is rated to 5.34kg, about 11.8 pounds.

What does the PDW Gravity Plus taillight do?

It has a built-in accelerometer. When it senses braking or swerving, it switches to a bright solid beam to warn traffic behind you.

Is PDW from Portland?

Yes. Portland Design Works started in Portland in 2008, just across the Columbia River from Dialed Cycling Lab.

Full-coverage fenders

Full Metal Fenders come in 37, 45, and 55mm widths, made of anodized aluminum with mudflaps that shield your shoes and riders on your rear wheel. Safety release tabs keep the wheel turning if debris gets caught between fender and tire.

Recycled Poncho fenders

Poncho Fenders are made from recycled polycarbonate. The 45mm size fits tires up to 35mm, and the 57mm size fits tires up to 48mm.

Fenders for thru axles

Minoura thru axles replace your existing thru axle and add a mounting eyelet on both ends, so you can mount racks and fenders on a fork without eyelets.

Basket-ready racks

The OxRack Front has alloy basket braces for attaching a wire basket and carries up to 10kg. The OxRack Rear has spacers built into the legs for easy mounting near complicated dropouts, weighs 500 grams, and carries up to 25kg.

The Story

Everyday gear from Portland since 2008

Portland Design Works started in 2008. Co-founder Erik Olson and a couple of others were living in Madison, Wisconsin, and didn't see many fun, design-oriented bike accessories out there, so they sold their homes and moved to Portland to start PDW. One of their first products was the 3wrencho. PDW is still a small crew designing beautiful, simple gear for everyday riding. Most PDW gear is made in Taiwan by partners PDW has worked with since the start, and PDW donates at least 1% of its top-line revenue to nonprofits that promote cycling in their communities.
