What is the Challenge Limus TLR built for?

Limus is Latin for mud, and mud is where this tire belongs. Deep, aggressive, well-spaced knobs cut through muddy courses so you can carry speed through corners and off-camber sections and keep traction on the climbs. At the 2018 Cyclocross World Championships, the Limus won four of the five gold medals.

This is the tubeless-ready Limus in 700 x 33 with black sidewalls. It comes from Challenge's RACE series, which is vulcanized: a lightweight 60 TPI nylon casing, Challenge's SMART-V compound, and a PPS puncture protection layer between the tread and the casing. It is compatible with hooked rims only. Challenge recommends its Smart Tubeless Sealant for setup.

How is the Limus TLR different from the Limus Pro Handmade Clincher?

Both use the same Limus mud tread. The Limus TLR is vulcanized with a 60 TPI nylon casing and runs tubeless. The Limus Pro Handmade Clincher has a 300 TPI Super Polyester casing and runs with a tube.

Can I run the Limus TLR on hookless rims?

No. Challenge lists this vulcanized Limus TLR as hooked rim compatible. Challenge's hookless-compatible tires are the Getaway RACE series TLR, its handmade TLR tires from 33 to 45C, and the Criterium RS TLR.

Is the Limus a good choice for dry courses?

Challenge built the Limus for mud and extreme conditions. For races where conditions keep changing between wet sand, sticky mud and dry, fast ground, Challenge's all-around tread is the Baby Limus.
