Like all Ostro VAM seatposts, this one targets aerodynamic efficiency by using a slender shape that disrupts as little airflow as possible in the turbulent zone behind the rider's legs, in full compliance with current UCI aero rules.
The 20mm setback positions the saddle behind the clamp axis, working well for riders with longer torsos, those transitioning from traditional geometry road bikes, or anyone whose bike fit calls for posterior saddle placement to achieve proper knee-over-pedal alignment. Built from high-modulus carbon fiber and finished in chrome, it integrates visually and structurally with the OSTRO VAM for a seamless build. The 20mm setback moves your saddle rearward relative to the clamp axis, which suits riders who need more distance between their knee and the pedal spindle at the forward pedal stroke. The 0mm version is better for a neutral to forward position.
Will this seatpost fit other Factor frames?
No. The Ostro VAM seatpost is designed specifically for the Factor Ostro VAM frame and its proprietary seat tube interface. It is not compatible with other Factor models.
Is this version UCI legal for racing?
Yes. Factor built the Ostro VAM seatpost to meet current UCI aero regulations, making it legal for sanctioned road and criterium racing without any modifications.
