Hammer Gel
Carbohydrate heavy and light on the sugar, Hammer Nutrition Hammer Gels utilize long-chain complex carbohydrates in the form of maltodextrin which release a consistent flow of energy to your muscles. They hit your blood stream quick to pick you up from a bonk but won't send you crashing immediately after. They have no added sugars, artificial flavors or sweeteners, the consistency is light and syrupy, and the flavors are delicious.
How to use:
- Use as a primary fuel source of calories during exercise less than 3 hours.
- Consume 1 serving 10 minutes before and every 45 minutes during exercise. Add 16– 26 oz (473–768 ml), depending on temperatures, of water per hour.
- If using more than one fuel, be sure to count all of the calories from all of the products consumed to reach a correct total hourly intake.
- Use as a secondary calorie source during exercise lasting more than 3 hours; it’s time to switch to Perpetuem® as your primary fuel source. However, Hammer Gel can be combined with Perpetuem or any other Hammer fuel during prolonged exercise for variety and to avoid flavor fatigue. Just be sure to count calories from all sources to avoid over-consuming.

Ingredient Breakdown:
Maltodextrin – A high-glycemic index (GI) complex carbohydrate, ideal for providing fast-acting, long-lasting energy during exercise and for replenishing the body’s glycogen stores after exercise.
Energy Smart® (Rice Syrup, Grape Juice Concentrate) – This all-natural, low-sugar sweetener plays an important role in Hammer Gel’s delicious flavor while contributing minimally to the overall carbohydrate content. Energy Smart® is certified non-GMO, gluten-free, and allergen-free.
Citric Acid – Used in minimum amounts to meet FDA requirements for acidity levels. Hammer Gel contains less citric acid than comparable products.
Salt – Minimally added for preservation, flavor, and digestive support. It is not a source of electrolytes (see Endurolytes® product line).
L-Leucine, L-Isoleucine, L-Valine – The branched-chain amino acids (BCAA’s) protect against muscle tissue breakdown, while also helping alleviate fatigue.
L-Alanine – This amino acid is used to help meet energy demands, particularly when the body’s carbohydrates stores are running low.
Potassium Chloride – Rich source of potassium. Supplies additional chloride as well.
Potassium Carbonate – Used in small amounts to regulate the acid/alkaline balance of the flavors of Hammer Gel that are a bit more on the acidic side than the alkaline side (e.g., Espresso, Chocolate)
Cultured Dextrose (Used in pouches and some jugs) – FDA-approved, all-natural preservative.
Potassium Sorbate (Used in some jugs) – FDA-approved preservative.
