What Is the BSH-4 Bladed Spoke Holder Used For?
The Park Tool BSH-4 Bladed Spoke Holder is designed to prevent bladed or aero spokes from rotating while you tension or true a wheel. Bladed spokes can spin freely inside the hub flange, making it impossible to apply torque at the nipple without the spoke twisting and winding up. The BSH-4 clamps to the flat section of the blade and holds the spoke in a fixed position, giving your nipple driver something stable to work against so the tension goes exactly where it needs to go.
Wheelbuilding and truing with bladed spoke technology requires this tool. Without it, you'll fight the spoke on every turn of the nipple and end up with wound-up tension that releases unpredictably. The BSH-4 makes aero spoke work fast and accurate whether you're building from scratch or chasing a lateral deviation in an existing wheel.
