How Does the PDW OxRack Hold a Wire Basket Without Zip Ties?

With a pair of alloy basket braces built into the rack. That is the whole point of the OxRack Front. Most front racks leave you fumbling with cable ties to keep a basket from shifting, and those ties crack and drop off after a season in the weather. The braces snug the basket down mechanically instead, so it stays put and comes off again when you want it to. The platform is sized at 11 by 8.6 inches to fit the two baskets most people actually own, the Wald 137 and the Wald 139, along with PDW's own Timber to Town baskets.

It mounts at the fork crown and mid-fork eyelets, which keeps the load low and centered rather than perched high where it makes the steering feel vague. Steel construction, 730 grams, rated to 10 kg or 22 pounds. That is enough for a full grocery run or a loaded day of errands without turning your front end into a liability. What mounts does my fork need?

Your fork needs mid-fork eyelets and a mounting point at the crown. Without both, this rack will not mount correctly. Check your fork before ordering.

Which baskets fit?

The platform is 11 by 8.6 inches, sized around the Wald 137 at 13 by 8 inches and the Wald 139 at 15.75 by 10.5 inches. PDW's own Timber to Town baskets in medium and large also fit. Most standard wire baskets will work.

Do I need zip ties to attach a basket?

No. That is the point of the alloy basket braces built into the rack. They clamp the basket mechanically, so nothing cracks and falls off after a wet season.

How much can it carry?
