It refers to 2x drivetrains, meaning bikes with a front derailleur shifter. Those bikes don't have room for a shifter style dropper lever, so the Puget 2x sits on top of the handlebar and is positioned vertically to stay out of the way of the front derailleur levers. It is not a product generation.

Does this kit work on bikes with a 1x drivetrain?
