The Salsa Super Boost 157 Main Pivot Hardware Kit for V3 Split Pivot Frames is the factory main pivot hardware for Salsa full-suspension frames with 157mm Super Boost rear hub spacing. It is part of the Salsa Split Pivot suspension service kit line and fits the Horsethief and Spearfish V3 from 2019 on, plus the Blackthorn and Cassidy V1 from 2021 on, in both carbon and alloy. When the main pivot develops play, starts creaking under load, or the old hardware comes out marred during a bearing swap, this kit puts the rear end back to spec.
Because it is a Salsa original, the hardware matches the frame's pivot dimensions instead of a close-enough substitute from the bolt bin. Check your rear hub spacing before you order: Split Pivot frames with 142 or 148mm spacing use a different main pivot kit, and this one only fits the 157mm frames listed. Our advice from the service side of the lab is to replace pivot hardware any time the main pivot is apart for bearings, since fresh hardware is cheap insurance against a creak that comes back a month later. This is the right part for anyone rebuilding a Horsethief, Spearfish, Blackthorn, or Cassidy rear triangle.
