CUES is Shimano's unified groupset for trail, urban, and recreational riding, replacing the older Alivio, Acera, and Altus tiers. LINKGLIDE is the cassette and chain technology inside CUES, engineered for longer wear life and durable shifting under power. This derailleur is built specifically to work inside the CUES 2x9 ecosystem.
What is Top Swing and how is it different from Side Swing?
Top Swing means the derailleur cage pivots from above the chainrings rather than from the side. It is the traditional MTB front derailleur design and works well on frames where Side Swing routing is not supported. The trade-off is slightly less tire clearance compared to Side Swing.
Will this fit my frame?
The low-clamp 34.9mm band ships with both 28.6mm and 31.8mm shims, so it fits the three most common modern mountain seat tube diameters. Confirm your frame uses a clamp-on mount and that the chainstay angle is in the 63 to 68 degree range.
