The Shimano D02S-MX is a sintered metal compound disc brake pad designed for high-heat, high-load situations where resin pads fade or wear out too quickly. Metal compound holds up through long descents, wet conditions, and sustained heavy braking without the performance drop-off that resin experiences as caliper temperature builds. A stainless steel backing plate adds corrosion resistance and maintains pad geometry under the thermal cycling that extended braking sessions produce, keeping the pad secure and consistent in the caliper.

These pads are compatible with Shimano 4-piston calipers including BR-M8120, BR-M7120, BR-M6120, BR-M8020, BR-M820, BR-M810, BR-M640, BR-MT520, and BR-MT420. Metal compound pads run louder than resin on clean rotors and require a short break-in period, but deliver significantly longer service life and more consistent modulation in adverse conditions. A pad spring is included with each set.
