FAQ

Which shell width do I need?

Measure your bottom bracket shell. The inner diameter needs to be 41mm. Then measure the width: 89.5mm or 92mm takes the narrow option, commonly labeled BB92. 104.5mm or 107mm takes the wide option, which is typical on fat bikes and some wide-shell frames. If your shell is threaded, you need the BB-MT801 instead.

Will this work with non-Shimano cranks?

Yes. It is built for 24mm Hollowtech II spindles, which also covers FSA MegaExo, FSA MegaExo Light, Race Face EXI, and Surly OD cranks using the same 24mm standard.

What is the difference between this and the XTR version?

The XTR SM-BB94-41A weighs 58g against this one's 68.2g in the 89.5/92mm size and uses a revised seal design. Fitment and crank compatibility are identical, so the difference is weight and bearing grade. XTR is only offered in the narrow shell width.

Are spacers included?

Yes, spacers come in the box for setting chainline across different shell widths.

Can I install this myself?

Not by hand. Press-fit cups need a proper bottom bracket press to install squarely and a bearing puller to remove. Installing them with anything else risks damaging the frame shell. If you do not have both tools, have a shop do it.
