The Shimano Dura-Ace CS-R9200 brings HYPERGLIDE+ technology to the road for the first time, delivering the seamless under-load shifting that revolutionized mountain bike drivetrains and now raises the bar for road racing. Even during maximum climbing efforts or sprint finishes, riders no longer need to ease off the pedals to shift. The HYPERGLIDE+ cassette system is engineered to shift cleanly under full power in any gear. Larger driving cogs maximize drivetrain efficiency while maintaining compatibility with existing Shimano road 11-speed freehub bodies, so no new wheelsets are required. Available in 11-30T and 11-34T configurations to cover flat racing and mountainous terrain.
Compatible with Shimano Dura-Ace R9200 and R9250 12-speed drivetrains. Also fits Shimano road 11-speed freehub bodies. Requires a 12-speed chain. The aluminum lock ring is part of the cassette.

Yes. The CS-R9200 is backward compatible with Shimano road 11-speed freehub bodies, so you do not need new wheels to run the 12-speed Dura-Ace drivetrain. The exception is Shimano's new Dura-Ace R9200 wheelsets, which require a 12-speed cassette.
What chain is required for the CS-R9200?
The CS-R9200 requires a Shimano 12-speed chain. The CN-M9100 used in Shimano's XTR MTB groupset is the same chain used in the Dura-Ace R9200 drivetrain.
What does HYPERGLIDE+ allow on the road that standard cassettes do not?
HYPERGLIDE+ enables continuous pedaling through shifts without any power interruption. On a standard drivetrain you need to momentarily ease pedaling pressure for a clean shift. With HYPERGLIDE+, you can sprint, climb, or accelerate through a shift without any hesitation.
