FAQ

What is the difference between ICE TECHNOLOGIES and ICE TECHNOLOGIES FREEZA?

Both use the 3-layer stainless-aluminum-stainless sandwich structure, but ICE TECHNOLOGIES FREEZA adds an extended inner aluminum layer that protrudes as a wide exposed radiator fin, significantly increasing heat dissipation capacity. The RT-MT800-SS uses FREEZA -- the higher specification.

Can I use the RT-MT800-SS on a 6-bolt hub?

No. The RT-MT800-SS is a Center Lock rotor and requires a Center Lock-compatible hub with an ISO spline mount. A center lock to 6-bolt adapter is available separately if needed.

Is 140mm large enough for trail riding?

It depends on rider weight, terrain, and riding style. 140mm is commonly used as a rear rotor in trail setups, or as front and rear on lighter XC-oriented builds. Many trail riders run 160mm front with 140mm rear. Consult your brake manufacturer and consider your terrain.

Best For

XC and light trail riders running Shimano XT M8000 or M8100 Center Lock hydraulic disc brakes who want the highest-spec Shimano heat management in a compact 140mm rotor for rear use or weight-conscious front builds.
