SM-BH59 is the hose Shimano lists for its entry-level hydraulic MTB brakes, such as the BR-MT200, BR-MT410, and BR-MT500. SM-BH90 is the hose Shimano lists for the Deore M6100, SLX, XT, and XTR brakes and for its road hydraulic brakes. Shimano rates BH90 rigidity as high and BH59 as standard. They use different fittings and are not interchangeable.
Can I use this hose on Deore, SLX, XT, or XTR brakes?
Only on some. Shimano lists this BH59 hose for the Deore BL-M4100 lever with the BR-MT410 caliper, and BH90 hose for the Deore M6100, SLX M7100, XT M8100, and XTR brakes. Use the hose spec Shimano lists for your brake.
Is 1700mm long enough for most full-suspension MTBs?
1700mm covers most rear brake hose runs on full-suspension bikes. However, measure your specific routing path before cutting, add extra length for full-lock handlebar turn and any additional routing length through frame channels.
