FAQ
Good questions
Get to know Shimano
There's more to Shimano than this one product. Our Shimano page has the full Shimano lineup we carry and more about the brand.
Visit the Shimano page →Is the 12-25T range appropriate for hilly terrain?
The 12-25T is a close-ratio, flat-terrain specification. For riders who tackle regular climbing, a wider ratio cassette such as 11-28T or 11-32T would provide more useful low gearing.
Is the CS-HG50-9 compatible with Shimano Tiagra and other 9-speed drivetrains?
Yes. The CS-HG50-9 is compatible with all Shimano 9-speed road drivetrains including Sora R3000 and equivalent groupsets.
What chain is required?
Use a Shimano 9-speed chain such as the CN-HG53 for correct fitment and shifting performance with this cassette.
