FAQ

Can I use this on carbon parts?

Yes. Silca makes this paste for reactive metals including carbon, and it is designed for the dissimilar metal interfaces common on carbon builds. Note: a carbon seat post in a frame is a friction situation, so a dedicated carbon assembly paste (friction compound) is the right tool there. Anti-seize is for threaded and press-fit metal interfaces.

Do I need to re-torque after applying anti-seize?

Anti-seize reduces thread friction, which changes the clamping force at a given torque value. Always follow the manufacturer torque spec with the paste applied.

Is it safe on titanium bolts?

Yes. Titanium is especially prone to galling under thread contact, and anti-seize at assembly is standard practice for titanium fasteners.

How much SILCA Anti-Seize should I use on titanium bolts?

A thin film of SILCA Anti-Seize on the threads is all you need for titanium bolts, just enough to coat them so the metal still shows through rather than a thick layer. If paste squeezes out as you tighten, that is the sign you used too much, so wipe the excess and use less next time. Always follow the manufacturer's recommended torque spec for your fastener.

Best For

Home mechanics and shops assembling titanium hardware, threaded bottom brackets, press-fit interfaces, or any dissimilar metal contact point that needs to stay serviceable long-term.
