What makes Silca Hold Fast Carbon Paste different from other carbon pastes?
Silca Hold Fast Carbon Paste delivers superior grip and cleaner installs through a high-tack silicone formula, setting it apart from traditional carbon grip pastes that lean on dyed greases and low density texture additives. Developed at the request of the pro mechanics at VISMA Lease a Bike, it was engineered to solve the real frustrations of stained clothing, slick grease bases, and poor grip at low torque. It increases surface friction so you can clamp at lower torque while cutting the risk of fatigue, slippage, or damage to carbon and alloy parts.
Where most carbon pastes use grease as a base, Hold Fast uses a clean, high-tack silicone carrier that stays put, wipes clean, and is safe on carbon, titanium, aluminum, and painted finishes. It carries three to four times more silicate friction additive than typical pastes, is clear and dye-free so it will not stain fingers or paint, and is ideal for cockpit and seatpost installs at lower torque values. Made in the USA in a 3.38oz tube, it cleans up easily with Silca Gear Wipes. Use it on clamp interfaces only, not on threads or bearings.
