What makes SILCA Nastro Piloti different from other thin bar tapes?
The SILCA Nastro Piloti is built for riders who want a direct, race-feel connection to the bar without giving up vibration isolation. At 1.85mm it is SILCA's thinnest tape, but instead of simply using less of a standard foam it runs the same tri-laminate construction as the thicker Cuscino line: a SILCAthane outer grip ply tuned from high-performance eyewear materials, a SILCAlon cushion layer developed from 2-Hour Marathon shoe foam, and a 3M Visco-elastic adhesive that damps handlebar buzz. The result is cushioning equivalent to a 2.5mm tape in a 1.85mm profile, with grip that holds in wet and dry and roughly 3 to 5x the durability of conventional tape.
The Asymmetric Dual-Tread PILOTI texture is inspired by F1 tire technology, so you can wrap it one direction for a moderate, High Grip feel or the other for Max Grip. It comes with a full adhesive-backed butterfly for clean lever-clamp coverage with no bulk or hood deformation, high-grip finishing tape, and expanding aluminum/composite end plugs. Every roll is automatically enrolled in SILCA's Crash Replacement Program. Available in Black and White.
