What makes SILCA Nastro Piloti different from other thin bar tapes?
The SILCA Nastro Piloti is built for riders who want direct, race-feel grip without sacrificing vibration isolation. At 1.85mm it's SILCA's thinnest option, but instead of using less of a standard foam, it uses the same SILCAthane, SILCAlon, and 3M Visco-elastic adhesive laminate construction as the thicker Cuscino line, the same materials approach borrowed from high-performance running shoe foam and F1 tire compounds. The result is cushioning equivalent to a 2.5mm tape in a 1.85mm profile, vibration isolation without bulk, and grip that doesn't fade in heat or wet conditions. 3 to 5x the durability of conventional tape materials.
Comes with a full adhesive-backed butterfly segment for clean lever clamp coverage without adding bulk, high-grip finishing tape, and expanding aluminum/composite end plugs.
