FAQ

Can I use DOT 5.1 in place of DOT 4 or DOT 3 in my SRAM brakes?

Yes. DOT 3, 4, and 5.1 fluids are compatible with each other in DOT-specified brake systems because they share the same glycol base chemistry. DOT 5.1 provides a higher boiling point than DOT 3 or 4, making it the preferred fluid for demanding applications. Never mix DOT fluids with mineral oil.

How often should I change hydraulic brake fluid?

SRAM recommends a full bleed with fresh fluid every 1 to 2 years depending on riding frequency and conditions. Riders in high-humidity environments or those doing heavy mountain descending may need more frequent changes. Degraded fluid typically manifests as a softer lever feel that bleeds cannot fully resolve.

Can I use this fluid in RockShox suspension products?

No. RockShox suspension forks and rear shocks use dedicated suspension fluid, not DOT brake fluid. This product is for hydraulic disc brakes only. Using brake fluid in suspension components will damage internal seals and is not covered under warranty.

Best For

Riders bleeding or servicing SRAM and Avid hydraulic disc brakes. Compatible with all SRAM DOT brake systems including Guide, Code, Level, Red, Force, Rival, and Apex hydraulic disc brakes.
