How does the SRAM GX Eagle T-Type Derailleur mount without a hanger?

The SRAM GX Eagle T-Type AXS rear derailleur uses SRAM's Hangerless Interface, which mounts around the wheel axle and contacts the cassette directly instead of hanging off a derailleur hanger. The Full Mount attachment grips both sides of the frame, so the connection is stronger and alignment comes from the frame rather than from adjustment. Shifting is wireless through AXS, using the same pairing and setup procedure as other AXS derailleurs. There are no limit screws to set and no B-gap to dial in.

It is built to be repaired rather than replaced: the protective skid plates and the two-piece outer link can both be swapped out, and the cage and clutch assembly comes apart tool-free. It runs 12-speed and 1x only, handles a 52t maximum cog, and uses a steel inner cage. Your frame has to meet the UDH standard for the Hangerless Interface to fit, so confirm that before ordering. The AXS battery and the Pod controller are sold separately, and this derailleur pairs only with T-Type components, not with standard Eagle AXS or mechanical Eagle drivetrains.

Does my frame need a UDH to run the GX Eagle T-Type derailleur?

Yes. The Hangerless Interface mounts around the wheel axle in place of a derailleur hanger, so the frame must be built to the Universal Derailleur Hanger standard. If your frame uses a conventional bolt-on hanger, this derailleur will not fit.

Do I need to set limit screws or B-gap on a T-Type derailleur?

No. Because the derailleur mounts to the axle and references the cassette directly, there are no limit screws and no B-gap adjustment. Setup follows the standard AXS pairing procedure and the position is determined by the mount itself.

Can I use the GX Eagle T-Type derailleur with my existing Eagle AXS cassette and chain?

No. T-Type derailleurs work only with Eagle Transmission cassettes and Flattop T-Type chains. Standard Eagle AXS and mechanical Eagle cassettes and chains are not compatible, so moving to T-Type means changing the cassette and chain together.

What can be repaired on this derailleur instead of replaced?
