What comes in the SRAM GX Eagle Transmission Groupset?

This is the complete GX Eagle Transmission drivetrain in one box: the T-Type rear derailleur, a 170 mm crankset with a 32t direct mount chainring, the XS-1275 10-52t cassette, the Flattop chain with its PowerLock connector, an AXS Pod controller with the Infinity clamp, plus the AXS battery and charger. Everything that makes the drivetrain work is accounted for, so the only extra part you need is a T-Type DUB bottom bracket matched to your frame shell, which is not part of the kit. Brakes are not included either, since this is a drivetrain group rather than a full build kit.

The derailleur mounts through the Full Mount Hangerless Interface, wrapping the rear axle and referencing the cassette directly, so there is no hanger to bend and no limit screws or B-gap to set. Shifting under load is the point of Transmission: X-SYNC tooth profiling and cassette mapping keep the chain engaged through the shift instead of asking you to soft-pedal first. The forged aluminum crankset takes removable composite bashguards, and the chain uses solid pins built for the torque an e-bike motor puts through a drivetrain. The whole group is E-MTB approved, and your frame needs to meet the UDH standard.

FAQ

Does the GX Eagle Transmission groupset include a bottom bracket?

No. The groupset covers the drivetrain itself, so you need to add a T-Type DUB bottom bracket matched to your frame's shell standard and width. The crankset runs a 55mm chainline, so the bottom bracket has to suit that.

Are brakes included in this groupset?

No. This is a drivetrain groupset, not a complete build kit. Brakes, rotors, and a bottom bracket are all separate purchases.

Does my frame need a UDH for Eagle Transmission?

Yes. The Full Mount derailleur attaches around the rear axle in place of a derailleur hanger, so the frame must be built to the Universal Derailleur Hanger standard. A frame with a conventional bolt-on hanger cannot run Transmission.

What freehub body does the cassette need?

The XS-1275 cassette requires an XD driver body, which is the mountain bike standard. It will not fit a Shimano HG freehub, and it is not the XDR road driver used by SRAM's road cassettes.

Can I run this groupset on an e-bike?

Yes. GX Eagle Transmission is E-MTB approved. The T-Type chain uses solid pins built for the extra torque a motor puts through the drivetrain, and cassette mapping is what allows shifting under that load rather than requiring you to back off the power first.

Can I mix these parts with my existing Eagle AXS drivetrain?

No. Eagle Transmission T-Type components work only with other T-Type components. A standard Eagle AXS or mechanical Eagle cassette, chain, or derailleur will not work in this system, which is why the groupset ships as a complete set.
