No, and that catches people out. The derailleur ships without an AXS battery, so if this is your first AXS component you need one in the cart alongside it. This version is also a braze-on mount, meaning it bolts to a tab on the frame. If your frame has no braze-on tab, you need a separate clamp, available in 31.8 mm and 34.9 mm. Worth confirming both before you order, because neither is in the box.

What you get for the money is SRAM's Yaw cage movement, which rotates the cage as it swings outboard so the plates stay parallel to the chain instead of dragging against it. Paired with auto trim, that means no rasp in the cross gears and no trim lever to think about. Is a battery included?

No. The AXS battery is sold separately. If you already run AXS you can share batteries across components, but a first AXS purchase needs one added.

What mount does this use?

This one is braze-on. It bolts to a tab on your frame. If your frame has no tab, SRAM offers clamps in 31.8 mm and 34.9 mm, sold separately.

Which chainring combinations work with it?

46/33T, 48/35T, and 50/37T. 50/37T is the largest combination it will handle. If you need a chainring larger than 50/37T, you need the RED E1 front derailleur instead.

What is Yaw and why does it matter?

Yaw rotates the cage as it moves outboard, keeping the cage plates parallel to the chain rather than angled into it. That is what removes chain rub in the cross gears without a trim lever. Auto trim handles the rest automatically.

Will it fit my frame?

It fits chainstay angles from 61 to 66 degrees and runs a 45 mm chainline. Check your frame's chainstay angle if you are unsure, since outside that range the cage will not sit correctly.
