FAQ

What is the difference between the Rival XPLR D1 and E1?: The D1 is the previous-generation Rival XPLR 12-speed derailleur using a traditional hanger mount. The current E1 uses a Full Mount Hangerless interface. Both run wireless AXS but are not interchangeable in terms of frame mounting.

Is this derailleur compatible with Eagle cassettes or chains?: No. Eagle T-Type and standard Eagle cassettes and chains are not compatible with XPLR drivetrains. XPLR uses 10-44t cassettes with Flattop chains.

What cassettes work with the Rival XPLR D1?: The Rival XPLR AXS D1 supports a maximum cassette cog of 44t, compatible with the SRAM XPLR XG-1251 10-44t cassette and 10-36t road cassettes with Flattop chains.

Best For

Gravel and adventure cyclists on D1-generation Rival XPLR builds who need a replacement derailleur or are spec'ing a build around the earlier XPLR 12-speed 44t max system.
