What makes the SRAM XPLR XG-1251 cassette built for gravel?
The SRAM XPLR XG-1251 is a 12-speed gravel cassette with a 10-44t range and 440-percent gear spread, engineered to give gravel riders smooth progression on climbs and tight spacing on the high end for when the road turns fast. Each cog features shift ramps optimized for electronic shifting, delivering fast, precise shifts across the full range. The cassette uses MINI CLUSTER hybrid construction, combining four small cogs CNC-machined from a single block of billet steel with eight additional individually pinned cogs for a result that's light, durable, and purpose-built for mixed terrain. Requires an XDR driver body.
XPLR is SRAM's dedicated gravel platform, and the XG-1251 is the entry cassette in that family. The 440-percent range is the gravel sweet spot, with enough climbing range to handle punishing gravel grades without sacrificing the high-end tightness that fast gravel riding rewards. If you're running Rival XPLR or building a 1x gravel drivetrain, this is the cassette to spec.
