What is the SRAM GXP BB92 Bottom Bracket for?

The SRAM/Truvativ GXP BB92 is a stainless steel PressFit bottom bracket for mountain bike frames with an 89.5mm or 92mm BB92 shell. It's designed for use with GXP cranksets, the previous-generation SRAM spindle standard used on older GX, X9, X0, XX, and Truvativ MTB cranksets. The stainless steel cups deliver excellent corrosion resistance for trail and all-mountain use, and the PressFit design presses directly into the frame.

BB92 is a common PressFit shell specification on mountain bikes. If your MTB frame uses BB92 and your cranks are GXP, this is the correct bottom bracket. Confirm your frame shell specification and crankset spindle standard before ordering. GXP is not interchangeable with DUB.

What is the difference between GXP and DUB?

GXP uses a 24mm right and 22mm left spindle diameter. DUB uses a larger 28.99mm spindle. GXP is the older standard found on SRAM and Truvativ cranksets prior to the DUB transition. They are not interchangeable.

Is a press-fit installation tool required?

Yes. A press-fit BB installation tool is required. Never hammer press-fit cups directly into the frame shell.
