The Tannus Armour Tire Insert 700 x 35-40 is a foam insert that sits between your tire and inner tube to deliver puncture protection, pinch-flat protection, and rim protection on 700c gravel and commuter tires in the 35 to 40mm width range. Built around Aither, Tannus's patented multi-cell rebounding foam compound, the insert provides 15mm of puncture protection under the tread and 2mm of sidewall protection from sharp objects, eliminating roughly 90% of common flats. This is the right insert for gravel bikes, commuter setups, and adventure tourers running 35 to 40mm 700c tires who do not want to deal with tubeless sealant maintenance.
Armour lets you run lower tire pressures for better grip on loose surfaces and a smoother ride on rough pavement, without risking pinch flats over potholes and roots. This size has run-flat capability, so a sudden flat does not end your ride. Installation is as simple as a regular tube swap, requires a minimum 19mm inner rim width, and uses a smaller-than-stock tube (700 x 20-28) for proper fit.
