Is the Wolf Tooth Internal Spline Lockring Right for Your Frame?

The Wolf Tooth CenterLock Rotor Lockring Internal Spline secures a centerlock rotor onto a centerlock hub. Its slim design with an internal spline lets it fit frames and forks that do not have clearance for Wolf Tooth's External Spline lockring. It is made from 7075-T6 aluminum with a stainless steel shim washer, is made in the USA, weighs 8.5g, and is sold individually.

This version works with 12mm thru axles and QR only. It does not fit Chris King and Project321 rear hubs, and Wolf Tooth says to use its External Spline lockring for those. Torque it to 40Nm. It installs with the Wolf Tooth Pack Wrench and Cassette Lockring Insert.

What is the difference between the internal and external spline lockring?

The Internal Spline lockring has a slim design that fits frames and forks without clearance for the External Spline lockring. The External Spline version fits 12mm, 15mm, and 20mm thru axles and QR, while this one fits 12mm thru axles and QR only.

What tool installs the Internal Spline lockring?

Wolf Tooth says it installs with the Wolf Tooth Pack Wrench and Cassette Lockring Insert. Torque it to 40Nm.

Does it work with 15mm or 20mm thru axles?

No. This version fits 12mm thru axles and QR only. For 15mm and 20mm axles, use the Wolf Tooth External Spline lockring.
