What Makes the Zipp 353 NSW a Climber's Wheel?

The Zipp 353 NSW Tubeless Carbon Wheel is Zipp's pinnacle wheelset and its most advanced in every performance area. Featuring an integrated AXS Wheel Sensor for real-time tire pressure monitoring through SRAM AXS, it gives you instant pre-ride confirmation and ongoing awareness as conditions change. The improved carbon layup boosts rim impact strength by more than 16% on what Zipp calls its lightest wheelset. Its undulating 35/40mm deep rim delivers speed on the valley road, the mountain climb, and the descent, with excellent rolling resistance and crosswind stability. The 353 NSW is not approved for gravel riding.

At the center of each wheel is the lightweight ZR1 SL hubset with ceramic bearings, with 66 points of engagement. The hubset is 30g lighter than the predecessor hub in NSW wheels. The 353 NSW is engineered for climbing specialists, weight-conscious racers, and riders who want Zipp's most advanced wheelset on the road. It runs ISO/TSS compatible tubeless tires with sealant. We carry the rear with a SRAM XDR driver, and Zipp also makes it with a SRAM/Shimano HG driver. Sold individually as front or rear. For riders who have already thought about everything else on their build, this is the wheel that finishes it.

How does the 353 NSW differ from the 303 SW?

The 353 NSW is Zipp's flagship NSW-grade wheel and sits above the 303 SW. It uses the premium ZR1 SL hub with ceramic bearings versus the ZR1 stainless steel bearing hub in the 303 SW, and is built to a lighter weight target for climbing and high-performance road use.

Is the 353 NSW compatible with Shimano freehubs?

Zipp makes the 353 NSW rear wheel with a SRAM XDR driver or a SRAM/Shimano HG road driver (part 00.1918.752.000). The rear wheel on this page has the SRAM XDR driver.

What does the AXS Wheel Sensor do?

The integrated AXS Wheel Sensor monitors tire pressure in real time through your SRAM AXS system, eliminating valve-mounted sensors. A green light confirms you are ready to ride.
